Job description

The Reporting Specialist is responsible for collecting, reviewing, tracking, and finalizing production data and periodic progress reports (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual) for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Responsible for providing reporting support for the contract with the ability to pull year over year information to assist with data review and analysis. Ensures accuracy of data and provides reports on both pre-demand and post-demand activities by pulling data and compiling reports while ensuring quality and timely submission. This position is 100% remote.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to obtain government security clearance for government systems access. 

  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral, presentation, and written) and a demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Windows/Office. Advanced proficiency required in MS Excel and MS Access, and/or equivalent reporting and data analysis applications. 

  • Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations, guidelines, support technology and tools. 

  • Operational knowledge and skill in administrative and project management practices / systems. 

  • Advanced computer knowledge with skilled proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). 

  • Proficient in the understanding and application of analytic techniques and data mining. 

  • Skilled in the use of project management software tools and methodologies. 

  • Excellent organization skills with ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities. 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to write coherent reports. 

  • Ability to schedule and coordinate meetings. 

  • Ability to produce quality work, meet critical deadlines and pay attention to detail. 

  • Ability to be proactive, take initiative and accept accountability for assigned work functions. 

  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills. 

  • Ability to professionally and effectively interact with all levels of management and coworkers.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Uses math and reasoning abilities to analyze and evaluate collected data for accuracy, comprehensiveness and pertinence. Ensures timely receipt of all applicable production data from a wide variety of sources, including: electronic file transfers, email, systematic and manual queries and reports. Meets or exceeds established deadlines to complete assignments in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. 

  • Maintains reporting archives, distributes and posts timely updates to various file destinations/archives where applicable, including but not limited to: google shared drives, AWS WorkDocs, and the BCRC Learning Management System (LMS). 

  • Develops work breakdown structures, prepares charts, tables, graphs, and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information technology/business systems operations. Creates and maintains various reporting templates, spreadsheets, queries, macros, databases, and other statistical tools for use in composing periodic progress reports in conformance with customer contract specifications. 

  • Creates, updates, maintains and improves reporting templates, data collection tools, and other materials needed for task implementation, production, ongoing monitoring, and completion. 

  • Assists management and co-workers, as needed. Works closely with contract management to develop, test, and implement new reporting and tracking directives. 

  • Acts as backup and provides coverage for other Reporting Specialists. Reviews reports to identify errors and recommend corrections. Works with production supervisors and team leads to finalize daily/weekly/monthly reports and ensure quality reporting. Compiles ad-hoc customer statistics or reports, as requested. 

  • Routinely keeps supervisor apprised of progress regarding routine assignments as well as other assigned tasks. Proactively seeks to collect information in a format that is useful for the management staff. Provides thoughtful feedback, makes recommendations and assists with developing reporting improvements or automation, where appropriate. 

  • Responds to requests for service and assistance; follows instructions, responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; commits to doing the best job possible; keeps commitments; meets attendance and punctuality guidelines. 

  • Meets or exceeds core-competencies for this position. 

  • Maintains confidentiality and upholds the highest standards for privacy and data integrity and security. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $43K to $50K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
