About the Role: The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Controller. The Staff Accountant role will have accounts payable responsibility as well as exposure to balance sheet reconciliations including cash and prepaids. As part of our team, you will be instrumental in managing and maintaining our financial records, including processing invoices and managing vendor relationships. The Staff Accountant will provide support for the senior accountant including maintaining reconciliation schedules and preparation of journal entries for monthly close and assist with sales tax preparation.
Qualified Candidates Need:
2+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
Thorough knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
Experience with bank reconciliation and cash management
Advanced skills in Microsoft excel
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
Experience with various accounting software administration
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
Proficient in QuickBooks
CRM experience
BS or BA degree in accounting (CPA track preferred but not required)
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Management and processing of accounts payable, including annual 1099 preparation
Maintain balance sheet reconciliation schedules and prepare monthly close journal entries
Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns through tax tracking software
Assist with the preparation of regulatory reporting including annual and periodic program review audits
Support month-end and year-end close process
Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
Driving continual process improvement and system optimization
Additional accounting duties as necessary
