We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux Systems Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our mission-critical infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability across our systems.
What You Will Do:
- Linux expert responsible for implementing and maintaining critical infrastructure for on-prem and cloud (AWS and Azure) environments.
- Responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting alerts, maintenance, configurations, and all escalations related to Linux Operating Systems.
- Develop complex Terraform plans and Ansible roles to automate provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, and intra-service orchestration.
- Continually improve the deployment and operations process through automation and best practices.
- Maintain high standards of documentation for all processes, procedures, and scripts.
- Provide training, knowledge transfer, and instruction to teammates.
- Deal with incidents, working under pressure to restore services quickly while maintaining a high level of communication.
- Effectively communicate with the wider DT teams, business unit personnel, and executives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
- 7 years minimum experience of technical design development and integration of Linux based systems with a demonstrated success in project delivery.
- 5 years experience with Apache Web Server Reverse Proxy.
- 5 years experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS hardening and VMware/Azure image creation utilizing RTX and Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmark guidelines.
- 3 years experience with container deployment of Single Page Application Identity application to production using Red Hat provided Universal Base Image (UBI) container images.
- 3 years experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, JavaScript, or Perl.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-171.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning.
- Data pipeline development using commonly available CI/CD tools.
- Subject Matter Expert with HAProxy.
- Solid understanding of Disaster Recovery, Backup systems and methods.
- Expert ability to set up, configure, and develop custom scripts for host and service monitoring with Nagios XI, Datadog, and Splunk search/dashboard development.
- Red Hat Satellite 6 Identity organization management.
- Strong understanding of Layer 4 and Layer 7 networking.
- Strong ability to perform, analyze, and troubleshoot packet captures with Wireshark and tcpdump.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Passion for technology and a desire to learn new technologies.
- Work autonomously to identify and develop opportunities to improve, innovate and/or pioneer new ways of working through continuous process improvement practices.
- Develop mitigations for Cyber vulnerabilities including the creation of Content Security Policies (CSP)

This position is currently designated as remote. However, the successful candidate will be required to work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. Territories). Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed
The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
