Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Creative Design Specialist is responsible for crafting innovative and visually engaging content that supports the organization's branding, marketing, and communication efforts. This role combines artistic skill with strategic thinking to produce a wide range of digital and print assets, ensuring consistency across all visual touchpoints. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with a strong design sensibility, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling visual experiences.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and execute visually compelling designs across digital, print, and multimedia platforms, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
  2. Collaborate closely with team members to conceptualize and deliver creative assets that support campaigns, promotions, and product launches.
  3. Create original graphics, layouts, illustrations, and visual content for websites, social media, email marketing, presentations, and other channels.
  4. Translate abstract concepts and ideas into engaging visual stories that resonate with target audiences.
  5. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of design quality.
  6. Participate in creative brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance visual communication.
  7. Maintain and organize design files, templates, and brand assets for efficient workflow and accessibility.
  8. Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and technologies to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of creative work.
  9. Provide design support and expertise to cross-functional teams, offering guidance on best practices for visual consistency and impact.
  10. Review and revise designs based on stakeholder feedback, ensuring final outputs meet technical and aesthetic standards.
  11. Experience with video editing and/or video production is a plus.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Quality Assurance:  Commits to the understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.

 

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of full-time working experience in digital media within a corporation or agency is required.  Must have proficiency in Windows and Mac environments as well as significant experience with Photoshop, photo editing and photo manipulation. Good communication, including strong technical writing skills, presentation and interpersonal skills, is required and must have exceptional organization skills and be able to manage complex projects with multiple work phases with limited direct supervision.  Proficiency in video production, video editing and motion graphic design is preferred, but not required.
  • Industry Requirements:  Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits: 

The target pay range for this position is $80,521 - $97,180 annually.  The full pay range is $72,191 - $112,914 annually.
