Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer

About the Role:

Were looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Ruby on Rails Developer to join our development team. This role involves designing, building, and maintaining scalable web applications, APIs, and database systems. Youll work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver efficient, reliable, and user-friendly solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby on Rails on the backend and modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or similar) on the front end.

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with third-party services.

• Develop and manage database structures, queries, and migrations using PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate designs and wireframes into high-quality, responsive, and interactive user interfaces.

• Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.

• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.

• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high code quality.

• Work closely with product and business teams to gather and refine requirements.

• Contribute to the overall architecture and technology roadmap of the application.

• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and suggest improvements to enhance development processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 4+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer with strong Ruby on Rails experience.

• Solid front-end development skills using React.js, Vue.js, or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.

• Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and Bootstrap.

• Proficient in working with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Experience with RESTful API development and third-party API integrations.

• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with GraphQL, RSpec, or Capybara for testing.

• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Heroku, or similar).

• Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies.
