DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

We have a robust, hands-on engineering culture dedicated to continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, technical skill development and networking. We are an essential part of the Bank’s technology platform and develop applications for many important business areas.

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced Leader for our Site Reliability Engineering Team to drive insights and automation strategies across our platform. This role is part of RFT -Finance Production Integrity SRE portfolio. Finance Production SRE team is based out of India and Cary, US. This role will add to the follow the sun support model.

This role is part of Finance (FPI)-RFT Production Integrity SRE portfolio. FPI SRE team is based out of India and Cary, US. This role will add to the follow the sun support model.

Finance (FPI) IT is an integral function of DB providing end to end support for all Finance related applications. The Current team supports the below Finance domains:

Reporting Tribe

  • Risk Close
  • Local Reg
  • Common Reporting Capabilities (CRC)
  • Group Reporting

Accounting Tribe

  • Accounting Revenue
  • Accounting Close

Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy: Lead and mentor a team of SREs, fostering innovation and operational excellence in root cause analysis, monitoring and automation practices. Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to constantly look for insights and patterns and report actionable items to development teams. Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for SRE across the organization, advocating for its best practices and capabilities.
  • Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis: Oversee the triage, detection, debugging, and resolution of complex multi stack production incidents. Ensure that the team is equipped to respond rapidly and effectively to minimize the impact on advisor workflows while maintaining high service delivery standards.
  • Performance Optimization:  Proactively identify opportunities to optimize application performance, database queries, and infrastructure utilization.
  • Matrixed Leadership: Navigate and lead matrixed efforts across various teams and departments, ensuring effective collaboration and communication. Manage reporting structures that span multiple functions, facilitating alignment and accountability.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and develop team members, providing training on observability tools and processes. Ensure the team stays current with industry best practices and technologies, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, with regular training sessions and knowledge-sharing initiatives that empower team members.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including CIO-level constituents, to ensure alignment and support for the SRE Team’s objectives, enhancing overall organizational resilience.
  • Encouraging a psychological safe environment for the team

Experience

  • 12+ years overall IT experience resource, with an ability to drive the right level of SRE Production engagement and controls within the Change organization, and from production support standpoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery.
  • Ability to balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility.
  • Experience in IT delivery in a large enterprise working on mission-critical IT systems working in an agile environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience up to the most senior level
  • Experience working in large corporate environments / financial institutions – preferably investment banking, in Global delivery set up.
  • Able to adapt to a changing environment and drive change, self-motivated, delivery focused with the ability to work independently where required.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience up to the most senior level
  • Experience working in large corporate environments / financial institutions – preferably investment banking, in Global delivery set up.
  • Able to adapt to a changing environment and drive change, self-motivated, delivery focused with the ability to work independently where required.
  • Proven history of working in a delivery model based on agreed Service Level agreements and working to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of service delivered.

Technical Skills

  • Sound understanding of strong change management processes and controls in large organizations.
  • Strong experience of envisioning and driving full stack automation in medium to large sized groups.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in a distributed, multi-technology ecosystem
  • Strong technical expertise in below technologies:  ORACLE databases, SQL/PL SQL, Unix
  • Strong Experience working on Cloud Technology i.e. Google Cloud (Preferred)
  • Solid understanding of monitoring systems like ITRS Geneos, Splunk, Control-M, AutoSys
  • Strong Knowledge of Oracle Management, SQL scripts, performance mgmt.
  • Strong understanding of Unix, Linux and Windows
  • Understanding of Agile and Safe methodologies (preferred)
  • Experience with SRE Model and execution/maintain deliveries within the SRE model.
  • Good understanding of Hadoop and data visualization tools like Tableau will be a plus
  • Prior experience of working and leading teams.
