Position Overview

Be a strong part of the project team. Use your expertise to provide first-class deliverables and infrared thermographic services. This role requires an individual with a strong work ethic, technical skill, and flexibility. As a Certified Infrared Thermographer, you will be responsible for performing infrared electrical, mechanical, roof, and building envelope inspections. You will work across a variety of project sites and must be comfortable with frequent travel and dynamic environments.

Responsibilities (subject to change, modification as needed) are as follows, but not limited to:

  • Conduct infrared inspections of electrical and mechanical systems using certified thermography equipment.
  • Perform roof and building envelope thermographic inspections and water spray rack testing.
  • Analyze infrared data to detect issues such as heat anomalies, electrical faults, or moisture intrusion.
  • Calibrate and maintain precision inspection instruments.
  • Interpret schematics and diagrams to troubleshoot issues.
  • Utilize inspection or design software for documentation as needed.
  • Communicate findings through detailed reports and verbal summaries.
  • Maintain professionalism and client communication while on site.
  • Follow proper safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Utilize mechanical and electrical knowledge to assess facility systems.
  • Travel to and perform on-site inspections across a variety of environments.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Project Manager or Director

Travel

  • Available for travel as needed to different locations and varying periods of time as needed on a project basis for site surveys, consultant coordination, construction administration, etc.
  • 50–70% of work time is allocated for travel to project sites.
  • Travel may occur over weekends to accommodate Monday starts.
  • Sites may include rooftops, attics, mechanical/electrical rooms, and more.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience in thermography, electrical, or mechanical inspection.
  • Certified Infrared Thermographer (Level I or higher) required.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing required.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Comfortable lifting 50 lbs and climbing ladders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel);
  • Experience with SKM, Revit, or AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, client service, and time management skills.
