POSITION: Lead, Credit

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to Manager, Credit & Risk, the Lead, Credit will work within the Global Sustainability and European Power & Gas (EUPG) function in World Kinect Corporation. He/she will be the primary point of contact for Global Sustainability credit requests and responsible for credit analysis, exposure reporting, and credit and contract management within the team. In addition, he/she will work with ad-hoc credit requests and analysis for power and gas (both existing and new customers) and will provide cover and back-up as required for the EUPG credit team. He/she will be able to operate independently as well as within a small team and contribute with automation and efficiency improvements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT AREN’T LIMITED TO:

The successful candidate will be part of the Global Sustainability and EUPG Credit Team:

  • Seeks public information on counterparties through corporate registries, company websites, trade news outlets, and rating agencies for use in making timely credit limit decisions, reacting both positively and negatively to the information gathered.
  • Ability to monitor delivered exposures on the portfolio, review lines as market events and credit policy dictate, and vote on overexposures versus credit lines.
  • Liaise with the collections team regarding overdue payments and monitor payment performance.
  • Able to independently interact with Sr. Leaders and present findings and recommendations in a professional, compelling way.
  • Able to work independently and make key decisions.
  • Has the ability to influence, make recommendations, and negotiate with internal stakeholders for the benefit of the business.
  • Receive customer information from multiple sources to perform risk analysis and make underwriting decisions within the guidelines of credit policies and procedures.
  • Proactively works with customers to manage customer credit exposure to established limits
  • Inform management of any material collection issues as soon as they are identified
  • Participate in all credit and risk decisions through involvement in the credit underwriting, exposure control, collections, and reporting activities
  • Liaise with other WKC departments, including Legal, Back Office, Collateral Management, Finance, and Treasury on Credit-related matters.
  • Represent the risk management voice in business discussions and decisions both internally and externally.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATE:

Education (Desirable):

  • BS/BA in Finance, Accounting or Business

Specific Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • 3 years+ business experience, preferably in a credit/finance/analytical role (Prior knowledge of the power and/or gas markets desirable)
  • Strong computer/software skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong analytical skills are essential.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential..
  • An interest in the Power industry and a desire to develop a career in the sector is important.
