Job Summary

A Field Service Engineer leads the implementation of software development efforts, including coding, configuration, maintenance, installation, testing, and debugging, as well as managing timelines and producing technical documentation.  They work with users across business verticals to enhance the operations of Field Service processes in Salesforce.  They are expected to take initiative, be creative and innovative, drive effective process designs, and share ideas.  They work closely with IT architects, developers, system  administrators, and product owners, and will be an active participant in getting projects completed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Configures, develops, and/or maintains both customized and standard Field Service solutions within the Salesforce platform to support critical business functions and meet project objectives, client requirements and company goals.

  • Manage daily support and maintenance of Field Service configurations across multiple Salesforce environments, and conduct long-term improvement operations to ensure compatibility with evolving business requirements.

  • Creates and maintains technical artifacts for Field Service solutions. 

  • Participates in cross-functional company project teams responsible for implementing technology solutions. 

  • Works across engineering teams to lead, define, and manage requirements (system, element, segment, subsystem, and interface level).  Performs requirements development, analysis, allocation, review, tracing, and validation. 

  • Applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to design products and systems. 

  • Supports all company technology standards to ensure reliable operations. 

  • Investigates anomalies/outages and determines steps to reproduce, root cause, and solutions options. 

  • Researches new technologies and/or monitors and evaluates existing technology for improvement opportunities to support technology life cycle. 

  • Researches, analyzes, and effectively consolidates technical or engineering related information and presents for management review. 

  • Monitors environment performance and provides all necessary reporting analysis. 

  • Applies project management fundamentals and concepts. 

  • Contributes to the completion of project/program milestones. 

  • Leads and contributes to project design and test reviews. 

  • Attends relevant conferences/seminars to remain current on new and upcoming technology. 

  • Keeps abreast of new Salesforce features and functionality, providing recommendations for process improvements when warranted.


 

CANDIDATE SUMMARY

Required Experience

  • Salesforce Admin, Platform App Builder, Field Service Lightning, and Platform Developer I certifications required

  • Salesforce Application Architect certification preferred

  • Minimum 5-7 years of SDLC experience required in a consultative or in-house support capacity

  • 3+ years of experience configuring and maintaining Salesforce Field Service, Service Cloud, and Sales Cloud

  • Experience with at least 1 large Salesforce implementation preferred

  • Proficient with Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, SOSL

  • Java / Javascript / C# / JQuery / Angular / Bootstrap

  • Ability to teach and educate others 

  • Verbal, written and presentation communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams. 

  • Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals. 

  • Experience in requirements development, analysis, allocation, review, tracing, and validation. 

  • Experience in product concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, synthesis, verification and validation. 

  • Demonstrated system engineering/analytical/problem solving skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment. 

  • Demonstrated experience generating technical documentation such as specifications, engineering reports, test plans and procedures, validation plans, and validation reports

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical or quantitative degree (e.g. mathematics) required combined with at least 5-10 years of experience in the applicable technical area.
