Job description

Are you a Medical Coder with a passion for Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) and looking for an opportunity to work with a top-tier academic medical center? This is your chance to elevate your skills while collaborating with the best in the field!

 

As a CDI Specialist with a Coding background, you will work remotely from your home office, partnering with client facilities to review and analyze medical records. Your role will involve interpreting documentation and crafting effective physician queries to enhance the quality, completeness, and accuracy of medical records. This role will also involve collaborating and communicating with other CDI specialists and medical coders to reconcile cases accurately.

 

The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of official medical coding guidelines, CMS, and private payer regulations related to the Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS). Additional qualifications include:

 

  • CCDS or CDIP required
  • CCS or CRC certification (preferred but not required)
  • The ability to work Friday-Tuesday
  • 2-3 years inpatient Coding or CDI experience
  • The ability to meet expected productivity standards for New Reviews, Follow-Up Reviews, and Query %
  • The ability to write a compliant query and follow best practices utilizing the Guidelines for Achieving a Compliant Query Practice Brief
  • The ability to communicate with physicians and hospital staff in a collaborative manner to promote appropriate clinical documentation and quality improvement is a must.
  • Proficiency with remote-based connectivity including using a VPN or Virtual Machine and 2 factor authentications with access to a smart phone.
  • Basic use of video conference technology such as MS Teams, Zoom, etc.
