This position is Remote to work with a US Company; you will require to have Citizenship or a work permit from Costa Rica or Colombia to apply for this role.
Role Objective:
The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for strengthening the organization's cybersecurity posture by implementing, managing, and enhancing security tools and systems. The role involves close collaboration with IT and Cyber Defense teams to prevent, detect, and mitigate cyber threats across global infrastructure.
Maintain and improve the security of the global environment.
Lead security projects and apply cybersecurity engineering best practices.
Collaborate with Cyber Defense analysts to identify and remediate threats.
Select, implement, test, and document new security tools.
Automate routine tasks and design workflows and processes.
Support full project lifecycles, from planning to implementation.
Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on complex security incidents.
Engage with vendors for tool evaluation, PoCs, and issue escalation.
10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering roles.
Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or related field.
Preferred certifications: CISSP, OSCP, GCIH, CCSP, SC-200, etc.
Hands-on experience with tools such as Firewalls, SIEM, EDR, DLP, WAF, PAM.
Strong understanding of secure architecture principles, Zero Trust, and cloud security.
Familiarity with security frameworks: NIST CSF, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK.
Ability to analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, and documentation skills.
Proficient in Windows and Linux OS, including Server 2012–2022, Windows 10–11, Hyper-V/VMware.
Experience with Azure, M365, Active Directory, Group Policy, Intune.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot AD, manage policy rollouts, and generate reports.
