We seek to engage a solutions-oriented project manager with strong relationship management and communication skills. Reporting to the Chief Global Development Officer and partnering closely with the SVP, Field Engagement, VP, Strategic Philanthropic Initiatives and key executive team leaders, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing the successful implementation of large-scale, international mission and engagement acceleration projects that require a high level of technical expertise, from start to finish.

The Senior Project Manager is a strategic leader who can execute cross-functional projects to reach organizational and project deliverables while driving overall project management excellence. Guided by the principle that all projects will be delivered on time within budget and scope, they will lend their expertise to ensure project documentation, alignment to project schedules, milestone are achieved, budget expectations are met and there is strong connectivity between key stakeholders, project leads and internal team through all phases. This leader must be capable of delivering high quality project plans in a complex, fast-paced, and changing working environment.

Responsibilities:

 Acceleration Efforts Project Management 

  • Lead project management and implementation planning for key initiatives to accelerate our mission strategy in the US and abroad.
  • Implement a scalable business model to drive greater reach and engagement for Breakthrough T1D in the US.
  • Manage the alignment of stakeholders and resources to support our global and US acceleration efforts in coordination with the executive team and other departmental leaders.
  • Coordinate day-to-day execution of operations for Global Acceleration Effort which includes managing communications and workflow with contracted strategic consulting firm and directing engagement across all internal teams.
  • Work in partnership with key functional teams to coordinate the implementation of specific organizational enhancements required for success in either acceleration effort.
  • Develop and integrate change management strategies into project plans, as appropriate, to ensure successful outcomes. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of business strategies, goals, and missions.  
  • Protect confidential and sensitive information. 

Stakeholder Collaboration  

  • Work in close partnership with the Global Development team, field leadership teams, mission teams, and other internal partners and external agencies to ensure all timelines and deliverables are met. 
  • Manage and set-up regularly scheduled project check-ins with all teams involved in integrated marketing and brand roll out. 
  • Manage teams through all phases of cycle development, including analysis, project design and development, testing, production, installation, and final project deliveries. 
  • Interface directly with internal leadership, staff, vendors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations. 
  • Provide regular, timely, and comprehensive project updates to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress. 
  • Support cross-team collaboration and meetings to achieve shared strategic and program objectives, including managing meeting cadence, preparation, and facilitation. 

Project Production & Management 

  • Support Chief Global Development Officer and Chief of Staff in the development of a refined and optimized project scope and approach to assigned initiatives. Including, but not limited to, evaluation of tools, staff needs, and process optimization.
  • Create project scopes and detailed work plans that include schedules, milestones, controls, and risk factors. 
  • Implement a comprehensive management plan for each project and plan, manage and facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to keep all interested parties updated on project progress. 
  • Identify and anticipate assigned project’s complex risks, lead reviews, create risk mitigation strategies, and implement action plans. 
  • Pinpoint how teams can leverage existing strengths and improve their weaknesses through various business process improvements. 
  • Operate within Breakthrough T1D’s governance processes, supporting both the delivery teams and business owners to ensure the right balance between control and support of timely stakeholder delivery and quality. 
  • Adhere to Breakthrough T1D’s standards, utilizing industry best practices and techniques throughout entire project execution. 

 Financial/Tracking/Analytics 

  • Identify anticipated budget revisions, additions, deletions, needs associated with revised brand strategy and implementation and escalate to ensure forecasting is accurate.  
  • Track and report on KPIs and project health, as well as business value. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's (B.A./B.S.) degree or equivalent, PMP certification preferred
  • 10 years of solid project management experience; preferably in federated network or non-profit environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply project management skills in a fast-paced environment with multiple senior stakeholders and conflicting priorities.  
  • Strong communications, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • A strategic and detail-oriented leader. 
  • Comfortable in a highly visible role with the capacity to easily develop stakeholder relationships and create trust.
  • Experience with organizational realignment initiatives across multiple stakeholders 
  • Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com, Wrike and/or Jira
  • Analytical thinker and problem solver able to navigate a high degree of ambiguity
  • Experience working with strategic consulting firms required.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work outside normal working hours when needed for calls and meetings with international partners.
  • Proficiency in office software (MS Office, etc.); experience preparing detailed presentations, whilst adhering to strict deadlines
  • Ability to travel as needed (estimated 5%)

Target Salary - $126k - $160k
