Job Overview

RCR Telecon LLC is hiring experienced Fiber Splicers to support our growing fiber and broadband installation operations across Texas and Florida. As a Fiber Splicer, you will be responsible for the precise installation, splicing, and testing of fiber optic cables in commercial and industrial environments. This position requires hands-on technical expertise and a commitment to accuracy and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Perform fusion and mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables, both aerial and underground.
• Conduct end-to-end testing using OTDR, light source, and power meters.
• Interpret splice diagrams, schematics, and engineering documents to perform accurate fiber assignments.
• Install enclosures, terminals, panels, and other necessary fiber infrastructure components.
• Troubleshoot and repair damaged fiber networks, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Label and document all completed splices and test results accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with industry standards, codes, and customer specifications.
• Work safely in outdoor environments, in bucket trucks, manholes, and in confined spaces.
• Collaborate with construction crews, project managers, and inspectors as needed.
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and safety equipment in good working condition.
  
  

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience splicing fiber optic cable.
• Proficient with OTDR, power meters, fusion splicers, and other fiber optic testing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of single-mode and multi-mode fiber and associated connector types.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, splice schematics, and construction blueprints.
• Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• OSHA 10/30, Fall Protection, and Lift certifications preferred (or willing to obtain).
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and safety mindset.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday to Friday. Flexibility required for occasional night work, weekends, or emergency callouts.

Work Location

Positions open in Texas and Florida. Regional travel required with provided vehicle and per diem.
