Job description

Summary

Performs functions that support nuclear fuel procurement such as fuel cost forecasting, cashflow planning, and procurement of uranium, conversion, enrichment, and fabrication. Also supports fuel fabrication oversight, and planning and oversight of fuel inspection activities. Provides contract administration support for nuclear fuel. Provides cross-functional support for outage roles or emergency response as required.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration (Required)
  • Master of Business Administration (Preferred)
  • Without either of the above degrees, an engineering degree with experience in procurement or finance may be considered.

Experience

  • Fuel Procurement Coord Assoc - 1 year of procurement or finance (Required)
  • Fuel Procurement Coord - 3 years of procurement or finance experience (Required), and 2 years is nuclear related (Preferred)
  • Fuel Procurement Coord Sr - 5 years of procurement or finance experience (Required), and 3 years is nuclear related (Preferred)
  • Fuel Procurement Coord Staff - 8 years of procurement or finance experience (Required), and 4 years is nuclear related (Preferred)

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • There is no Licensure or Certification required.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration: Interface with vendors, prepare contract notices, review and process invoices, track contractual commitments and deliveries. Review terms and conditions for new contracts.
  • Economic Analysis: Interface with core designers to project future fuel procurement needs, perform economic analysis of procurement and inventory management options, and calculate projections of nuclear fuel costs.
  • Procurement: Evaluate market trends and data. Maintain and execute the STP fuel procurement program. Evaluate bids and proposals.
  • Administrative: Communicate with various levels of station leadership as necessary to execute fuel purchasing and budget tracking activities. Support other department contract administration needs as necessary.
  • Fuel Inspections and Repair: Work with the fuel vendor and other station stakeholders to perform or coordinate assigned duties during nuclear fuel receipt, inspection and repair activities, and fuel cleaning campaigns. Evaluate results and provide recommendations to management.
  • Act as "CHAMPION" for nuclear fuel performance. Advocate for fuel integrity program health with an emphasis on improving overall plant performance and reliability.

  • Ability to work independently and interface with all levels of personnel required.
  • Provides support for fuel related activities during refueling outages.

Other Responsibilities

  • Accept outage position as assigned.
  • Accept ERO position as assigned.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access.
  • Successfully complete General Employee Training (GET) as required for position.

Environmental & Physical Requirements

  • Environmental and physical requirements are subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up to 30 lbs; ascending/descending stairs; sitting for extended periods of time; and spending considerable time in front of computer monitors.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Overtime and alternate work schedules as assigned.
  • Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
  • Travel (including overnight stay) may be required for business trips and training depending on the position.
  • May be required to carry a phone.

WORK LOCATION

  • Site – position will report to site initially and during periods directed by management. A hybrid/remote work schedule may be allowed by management depending on operational needs.
