A top-tier litigation defense firm with a powerful trial reputation is seeking a talented mid-level Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join their high-performing team in Pasadena. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about being in court, eager to take on meaningful trial work, and ready to contribute to a collaborative, tech-forward legal team. The Associate Attorney will work on a variety of complex matters including insurance defense, general civil litigation, business disputes, and high-profile cases, with real opportunity to develop under some of the most respected trial attorneys in the field.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated litigator with strong courtroom skills who thrives in a fast-paced, collegial environment. This is an exceptional opportunity for attorneys who want to grow into serious trial lawyers and eventually rise to partnership.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $175,000 / year DOE

Associate Attorney Responsibilities

  • Handle a caseload involving insurance defense, civil litigation, business litigation, and employment law matters
  • Serve as first or second chair in trials, or assist senior attorneys in preparing for trial and settlement negotiations
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions and pleadings, take and defend depositions, and prepare trial documents
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and litigation support staff to drive case strategy and client communication
  • Effectively manage timelines and meet billable hour goals
  • Utilize advanced legal technologies and AI tools to increase efficiency and accuracy in case work

Associate Attorney Requirements

  • 3–5 years of litigation defense experience required
  • Strong desire and aptitude for trial work
  • First or second-chair trial experience, or robust settlement experience
  • JD from an accredited law school and active membership in the California State Bar
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while being receptive to feedback and mentorship
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performance legal team
  • Insurance defense background preferred
