Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator to join our
growing team. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the estimating function for
electrical construction projects, analyzing blueprints and technical documentation to
generate accurate and competitive cost estimates. You will play a pivotal role in
ensuring project profitability and client satisfaction while upholding the company’s standards
and collaborative values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed estimates, bid submissions, and profit plans for electrical projects.
  • Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Assemble organized and accurate estimates and proposals for design-build and construction projects.
  • Solicit, analyze, and negotiate competitive quotes from trades and suppliers.
  • Maintain and update records of unit rates and standard pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project details and ensure alignment.
  • Compile budgets for general expenses and overheads.
  • Track and manage project changes and document cost impacts.
  • Support project execution by providing technical input and cost-effective solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating and project planning processes.

Requirements
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Estimator.
  • Proven expertise in electrical estimating for residential, commercial, and retail projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and industry standards.
  • Proficiency with estimating tools such as Accubid or similar software.
  • Advanced experience with Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scope documentation.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in project management, scheduling, and cost control.
  • Team leadership and stakeholder relationship management experience.
