Job Description: Typically responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the core
systems that govern the gameplay experience. Works closely with engineers, designers, artists,
and animators to develop new game features, game systems and development tools. Monitors
performance, security and network reliability of gameplay systems. Develops test cases and
integrates with the QA team. Be able to self-manage time and responsibilities when given
prioritized goals and objectives.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Software Development for games
or related field of study plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or 1 year of experience as a
Gameplay Engineer or Programmer. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering with a focus on Software Development for games or related field of study plus 3 years of
experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience as a Gameplay Engineer or Programmer.
Must have one (1) year of experience as a: Systems and Gameplay programmer using C++ in the
Unreal Engine, working on current generation of console platforms (Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5)
and Windows, MacOS and Linux platforms. Position requires experience with: Unreal’s Gameplay
Ability system; integrating Epic Online Services with online platforms including Xbox Live, PlayStation
Network, and Steam; integrating and working with the Wwise Audio plugin for Unreal Engine;
knowledge and experience with game performance profiling and optimization including advanced
understanding of the Unreal Insights profiler and task-based asynchronous programming. Position
requires credit for two shipped AAA console titles.
