We are seeking an experienced Alternative Distribution professional to join the team as a Managing Director/Director, Alternatives Distribution. This role is pivotal in expanding our capabilities across CQS and North America, directly contributing to Manulife's overarching goals of growth, client satisfaction, and market leadership.
Position Summary:
The MD/ D Alternatives Distribution role will focus on our CQS strategies and Distribution in North America focusing on developing, executing and delivering a comprehensive distribution strategy to grow the business , foster client relationships and directly raise assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Focus :
Help implement a North American and CQS Alternatives Institutional strategy for Manulife’s Institutional business.
Collaborate closely with Sales teams in Private and Public Markets, as well as with Marketing and Product Development, to effectively position our offerings in the marketplace.
Prioritize a partnership strategy within the distribution organization to establish and maintain lasting relationships with top clients and prospects. Target individual raise of $250m + AUM per annum.
Team Participation :
Actively participate in being part of a high-performing sales team across key North America
Work towards clear goals, taking accountability to ensure individual targets are met and team success.
Client Engagement:
Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with institutional investors.
Represent Manulife CQS in client and prospect meetings, clearly articulating the value of our Alternative Institutional Distribution solutions
Collaboration
Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to ensure alignment between client needs and business strategies.
Work closely with Marketing to develop impactful materials and campaigns that support the Alternatives Distribution strategy.
Market Intelligence and Engagement:
Monitor trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes in private markets, Public markets , Alternatives Institutional Distribution to maintain competitive positioning.
Participate and speak at conferences as a representative of MIM including the ability to articulate our Alternatives Institutional Distribution capabilities in the market place.
Experience:
10+ years of Institutional distribution experience across Alternative credit with a focus on structured credit
Proven track record of developing solid relationships with Sales Teams ,Clients and Investors .
Demonstrated success in meeting targets.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong client relationship management abilities, with the capability to influence and engage clients and investors
Proficient in verbal and written communication, with the ability to comprehend and articulate complex matters to the sales team, colleagues, and clients.
Proficient IT skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team and the broader organization.
Credibility to present effectively to clients and colleagues.
Sound business judgment.
Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent).
