We are actively seeking a Sr. Enterprise Architect – CPW Services resident in our UK London Office or remote anywhere in EMEA.

Position Summary 

The Sr. Enterprise Architect will have progressive experience in IT including excellent technical skills with specific experience as an Architect focused on infrastructure technologies. He/she is expected to partner with existing subject matter experts in technology architecture (network, storage, backup/recovery, virtualization, mobility, operating systems, etc.) providing thought leadership to technical strategy, including driving product roadmaps, reviewing and analyzing current architecture and its ability to support strategic objectives. 

He/she will collaborate with all levels of client and internal IT staff, while demonstrating effective written and oral communication skills, deep analytical skills, technical expertise, solution orientation, strategic thinking, the ability to establish rapport at all levels of the organization, and the ability to drive consensus.  Focus will be on technical sales support and retention of existing clients by solving issues related to infrastructure.  This position likely will require travel averaging 50% of working time.  However, travel could be more or less as required and necessary to successfully carry out work assignments

  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and guides scalable, testable, and reliable architecture and subsequent development of a project
  • Espouses the benefits of CI/CD (Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery) and assists product teams in implementing and maintaining those tools
  • Coordinates with product and project management to provide an understanding of the technical feasibility of new roadmap items
  • Identifies and corrects ineffective or missing processes or tools which may be a hindrance to project execution
  • Works with Test Engineering to create comprehensive automated testing suites
  • Works with Sr. Engineers to architect best-in-class solutions
  • Proactively identifies risks, communicates them clearly to the team and to Dexcom stakeholders, and helps plan for success through mitigation options
  • Technical voice for communications with Apple, Google, and other third parties
  • Staying abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends to serve the interests and needs of the Dexcom Engineering Program.
  • Works with other cross functional engineering teams to validate API, content and architecture decisions
  • Assists Project Manager with generating new project plans and sprint capacity planning
  • Works to establish strong SDLC practices for teams
  • Drives product excellence by helping teams define and build products that generate measurable value

Required Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in a software engineering capacity
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership experience — including leading teams and developing individuals
  • Deep understanding of software engineering and established best practice
  • Proficient with one or more of our core technologies (iOS, Android, Web, API, Backend, Test Engineering) *Education Requirements: Serving as a Trusted Advisor to Clients for their infrastructure concerns and issues
  • Solve technology stack issues relative to new releases and established applications
  • Assist ERP maintenance sales reps with technology stack questions during the sales cycle
  • Develop a macro view of current and future state of business and technology architecture that is well connected with business strategy
  • Provide leadership in developing standards, architectural governance, architectural design patterns and IT best practices. Work with other architects to develop a comprehensive view of all aspects of client Enterprise Architecture
  • Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise in various areas such as Storage, Networking, Virtualization, End-User Computing, Mobility and Backup & Recovery technologies. Evaluate new technologies and identify the benefit case for using new technologies
  • Create and present to internal and external client’s presentations, White Papers and Red Papers on technology stack solutions
  • Provide leadership to help guide development of IT systems solutions that are strategically aligned to the overall architecture vision of client

Location

Education 

  • BA or BS degree or higher from an accredited institution in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline

Experience 

  • At least 10 years progressive experience in IT, with at least 5 of those years supporting large heterogeneous enterprise systems
  • Must have advanced skills in scripting and programming languages as needed

Skills

  • Demonstrated project management experience including a demonstrated ability to manage blended teams of consultants and internal resources
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and modeling skill
  • Ability to develop a strategic vision
  • Ability to develop system concepts, logical architectures, solution options, and pros and cons of different options
  • Ability to articulate solution options and build consensus on most plausible alternatives
  • Expertise and solid understanding of Oracle Databases, SAN/NAS, mobile solutions/technologies, server and client virtualization, network security, UNIX and Windows platforms with Emphasis on ERP architecture
  • Strong background with dot net architecture
  • Done multiple installation or implementations of ERP
  • Pull together from multiple sources and present final solutions and best practices around architecture and future product roadmaps
  • Motivated by the desire to make a difference in the business, to work with a highly talented set of peers, and to work on interesting projects
  • Ability to take a proof of concept to reality and provide written and reproducible steps on the Proof of Concept
  • Self-motivated

  • Linux and / Or Windows system level tuning
  • Windows Powershell programming
  • Linux scripting
