On behalf of Big Blue Swim School, GT is looking for QA Specialist.

About the Client

Big Blue Swim School is one of the fastest-growing swim school franchises in the United States. Founded in 2009, the company offers year-round swim lessons for children aged 3 months to 12 years, using a proprietary curriculum and warm-water indoor pools designed for safety and comfort.

Since launching its franchising program in 2018, Big Blue has expanded rapidly, operating over 42 locations.

Big Blue’s operations are powered by LessonBuddy™, a cloud-based platform that supports scheduling, billing, and real-time progress tracking for both families and franchisees.

The platform is integrated with a mobile app and client portal, making it easy for parents to manage their experience.

About the Role

We are seeking a QA Specialist to help establish and strengthen our quality assurance function across the software development lifecycle. This role will be responsible for defining and implementing QA processes, creating and maintaining test strategies (including smoke and regression testing), and ensuring high-quality software delivery through close collaboration with development and product teams.

It is a full-time role for up to 4 months contract.

Working hours: It is essential to have at least 4 working hours of overlap with US Eastern time.

Responsibilities:
  • Define and implement a scalable QA process tailored to our software delivery pipeline. 

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, including smoke, regression, and exploratory testing. 

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to increase coverage and effectiveness of unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) tests. 

  • Integrate QA activities into CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable releases. 

  • Identify, document, and track defects; work with developers to resolve them. 

  • Recommend and implement tools and frameworks to support automated and manual testing. 

  • Define and continuously improve the triage process for support tickets and technical issues 

  • Review and assess incoming support requests to determine urgency, scope, and ownership 

  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to ensure timely resolution of issues 

  • Serve as a liaison between ticket submitters and developers, clarifying problem details and status updates 

  • Track and report on support trends, recurring issues, and areas for process improvement 

  • Ensure all tickets are documented clearly and updated regularly in the tracking system 

  • Help maintain a knowledge base of common issues and solutions 

  • Contribute to a culture of quality across engineering, product, and operations. 

Essential knowledge, skills & experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in software QA or test engineering.

  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and best practices.

  • Experience designing and executing various types of tests ( smoke, regression, E2E

    unit, integration, system).  

  • Familiarity with modern development workflows and CI/CD tools. 

  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar). 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills. 

Nice-to-have
  • Experience in early-stage or fast-growing technical teams. 

  • Background in software development or scripting is a plus (e.g., Python, JavaScript, etc.). 

  • Familiarity with Agile or DevOps environment
