The Opportunity

We’re looking for a driven and entrepreneurial Strategic Account Executive to join our team. You’ll be responsible for engaging with Sr Engineers, Heads of Engineering, CTO and other technical leaders to demonstrate Zencoder’s value, manage the sales cycle, and close deals. As our first sales hire, you’ll work closely with the executive team to refine our sales processes, craft compelling pitches, and build the foundation for future sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage Prospects: Identify, qualify, and nurture leads within mid-market and enterprises.
  • Value-Based Selling: Run consultative, value-driven sales processes, demonstrating Zencoder’s ability to solve technical pain points and deliver ROI.
  • Develop Tailored Demos: Create industry-specific demos that highlight Zencoder’s capabilities for different use cases, addressing unique challenges faced by prospects in various sectors.
  • Demo Mastery: Conduct product demonstrations, showcasing features like repository grokking, agentic pipelines, and blazing-fast code completion.
  • Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and a smooth buyer journey.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Navigate complex sales processes, influencing engineering leaders, technical decision-makers, and procurement teams.
  • Feedback Loop: Collaborate with the product and marketing teams to relay customer feedback and insights for product improvement and market positioning.
  • Sales Strategy Development: Help define and refine Zencoder’s sales strategy and playbook as we scale.
Essential Qualifications
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Sales Representative, Account Executive or similar role in B2B SaaS, ideally selling to technical audiences.
  • Technical Acumen: Comfort speaking with engineering leaders and CTOs about technical solutions. Familiarity with developer tools, software development, or AI is a strong plus.
  • Strong Understanding of the Software Tech Ecosystem: Familiarity with trends, tools, and challenges in software development and AI solutions is essential.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Excitement about being part of a founding team, building processes, and working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales quotas in mid-market or enterprise environments.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication, with the ability to simplify technical concepts for a variety of audiences.
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Demo Expertise: Experience creating tailored, impactful demos for different industries and use cases is highly desirable.
