Exasol accelerates insights from the world’s data. Our in-memory technology, massively parallel processing (MPP) technology is specifically designed for analytics, enabling businesses to turn data into actionable insights.

At Exasol, we are committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible in data analytics, and we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help share the future of data technology. Join our diverse, remote-first team where more than 30+ languages (and counting!) are spoken, and every voice is valued. We are looking for passionate individuals who thrive on collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to help share the future of data technology.

As a Solution Engineer, you will be a key technical advisor and partner for our prospective customers, addressing their technical inquiries and guiding them towards successful implementation of our analytical database. You will leverage your exceptional communication and technical skills to understand complex customer scenarios and demonstrate how Exasol can provide impactful solutions. This role offers a dynamic environment with diverse projects, exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and the opportunity to work with leading companies across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:
    • Technical Advisory & Consultation: Serve as the primary technical point of contact and trusted advisor for prospective customers, providing expert guidance on Exasol's capabilities and how they align with customer needs.
    • Solution Design & Architecture: Collaborate with customers to understand their data landscape, business requirements, and analytical objectives, and design optimal solution architectures leveraging Exasol.
    • Sales Collaboration: Partner with sales teams to qualify new opportunities, conduct technical discoveries, and develop compelling value propositions.
    • Proof of Value (POV) Execution: Lead and execute Proof of Concepts/Values (POCs/POVs) to demonstrate the tangible benefits of Exasol, including performance benchmarks, scalability, and ease of use.
    • Product Demonstrations: Deliver engaging and tailored product demonstrations to technical and business audiences, showcasing Exasol's features and functionalities within the context of customer use cases.
    • Technical Expertise: Provide hands-on support, including data loading, tool integration, and complex SQL query optimization, to facilitate successful evaluations and implementations.
    • Presentation & Communication: Develop and deliver compelling presentations to technical audiences and decision-makers, effectively communicating the value of Exasol solutions.
    • Market & Technology Awareness: Stay up to date with the latest trends in data warehousing, analytics, and cloud computing, and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications:
  • A passion for technology and innovation – You’ve earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a closely related field, and you're eager to put your knowledge into action.

  • Hands-on experience that counts – With 2+ years in a pre-sales, technical post-sales, or BI/DWH consulting role, you’ve already made an impact—and you're just getting started.

  • A love for data – SQL isn’t just a skill for you—it’s a language you speak fluently. You thrive in the world of data lakehouse technologies and can navigate complexity with confidence.

  • A visionary mindset – You see the big picture. Modern data-driven architectures, ETL pipelines, BI tools, analytics platforms—you understand how they all come together to drive real business insights.

  • Adaptability across platforms – Whether it’s in the cloud or on-premises, you’re at home in any environment and excited by the possibilities they offer.

  • A relentless problem-solver – You don’t shy away from challenges. Instead, you approach them with a curious mind, a strategic approach, and a drive to deliver smart, effective solutions.

  • A storyteller at heart – Your communication and presentation skills set you apart. You can turn complex technical concepts into compelling stories that resonate with both experts and non-specialists alike.

  • A global mindset – Fluent in both German and English, you’re ready to connect, collaborate, and make a difference in a diverse, international setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
