What You Will Be Doing: 

 

As a key member of our Engineering Leadership team, you’ll provide strong technical leadership, vision, management and mentoring for the Engineering organization. You will be able to bring your experience using technical and business acumen leading the day-to-day management of our projects and sprints. You will be a driving force behind the delivery of multiple business objectives that leverage and extend our technical platforms. You will be expected to work effectively with our leaders across the organization, mentor managers and developers, identify effective and efficient solutions for technical problems and provide mentorship and training. You will define the culture of mission critical engineering teams focused on quality and speed to market. You are a hands-on leader with responsibility for project plans, product design and architecture that deliver high quality releases with a global team of 100 technology professionals. 

 

Responsibilities:  

 

  • The VP Engineering, reporting to the CTO, is responsible for aligning the organization’s technical implementations with its business strategies and leading a growing team of passionate directors, engineering managers and product engineers
  • Deliver technology transformation initiatives that may span multiple technologies and solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across technology and business.
  • Handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term strategy with the urgency of immediate demands.
  • Build consensus, effectively manage conflicts, escalations, adversities, and delays found in a complex and highly competitive environment.
  • Leverage extensive technical and/or business knowledge to deliver technology solutions.
  • Gather market research to stay current on trends that may impact RegEd technology roadmaps. 
  • Help establish and oversee developer adherence to RegEd Engineering standards; ensure best practices are followed, provide documentation for the process, and look for ways to improve process where needed.
  • Ensure engineering staff meet annual training goals to maintain competency and competitive edge.
  • Provide KPIs based on RegEd Engineering delivery schedule.

 

Must Have: 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced technology organization
  • 10+ years of management experience in progressively more senior roles preferred
  • Experience delivering solutions using DevOps practices
  • Experience building self-empowered teams
  • Experience working in mixed technology shops (JAVA/.NET)
  • Experience leading technology projects across different time zones, languages, and engineering teams in multiple locations.
  • Experience with cloud first development & microservice architectures
  • Experience in effectively managing cross functional teams, influencing key stakeholders across the organization & communicating to business executives. 
  • Experience working with high volume processing SaaS applications.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, and negotiating statements of work with suppliers
  • Experience driving Agile best practices with all stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication and presentation skills; ability build and influence others; ability to build and maintain strong relationship with stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative; experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical thinking and end-to-end problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with offshore delivery partners and third-party vendors

 

Nice To Have: 

  • Experience in Insurance or Capital Markets sector. 
  • Experience in a regulated industry.
  • Firm understanding of RegTech.

Pay Transparency: 

 

The compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $250,000.

 

RegEd takes a market-based approach to pay. Your actual pay is based on your unique background, pertinent experience, work location and qualifications. In addition to competitive base pay and bonus program participation, RegEd’s total compensation package also includes our comprehensive benefits package in addition to vacation, sick, volunteer time off and paid parental leave.
