Job description

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Program Manager to join the Product & PMO! Individual reports to Senior Manager, Program Management. Role is remote; must reside in the United States.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Program Manager,  you’re responsible for overseeing the successful execution and delivery of small to medium projects utilizing cross-functional team resources. Some projects may involve multiple phases and will require the ability to manage schedule, scope, costs, and stakeholder needs effectively.  Proficiency in standard project management methodologies and processes is crucial to ensure projects follow established best practices and enable optimal resource allocation. You must possess strong negotiation skills to balance the various demands and priorities of project stakeholders. This role involves providing guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering a positive company culture, and driving innovation and efficiency in project execution. You should have the ability to inspire and motivate teams, promote collaboration, and encourage continuous improvement. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and an effective communicator. This position requires a strategic mindset, and candidates should be able to identify opportunities for process improvement.

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

  • Provide end-to-end project/program management duties along with reporting of KPIs, status, risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Oversee internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects/programs
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical and operational feasibility and strategic outlook
  • Manage changes throughout the project lifecycle helping ensure project goals are aligned with stakeholder expectation including updating project plans, identifying and mitigating risks, and addressing scope, schedule, and cost changes.
  • Drive program strategy to align with business goals. Track and report on the program's health and progress. 
  • Manage resources to ensure efficient delivery of projects/programs
  • A strategic mindset to align program objectives with the organization's goals and long-term vision. The capacity to think critically, analyze complex situations, and make informed decisions that drive program success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage and manage stakeholders at all levels (internal and external) including senior leadership. 
  • Build and maintain relationships (internal and external), influence key decision-makers, and facilitate effective communication across teams.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress and report on the progress of the project and objectives
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Perform risk management to mitigate risk and ensure the success of each program
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Identify, track, and report on all project dependencies
  • Perform project reviews to identify problem areas and find solutions for those gaps, as well as areas of praise and success
  • Assist with turning around troubled projects and getting them back on track

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in project management or a related field
  • PMP and/or Agile Certification preferred but not required
  • Telecommunications experience is highly preferred
  • Strong technical background with the technical capability to learn and use enterprise systems and other job-related software
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Workspace, Jira, program/project management software, smartsheets
  • Strategic thought on execution and delivery of projects impacting the business portfolio
  • Proven success in managing cross-functional projects and programs
  • Proven experience and knowledge of project management principles including change management, risk management, stakeholder management, etc.
  • Understanding of critical path and can lead teams in various project crashing exercises
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate to executive and leadership teams project timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs
  • Excellent facilitation skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Is a skilled liaison between internal stakeholders, product managers, Scrum teams and cross-functional teams. Can build excellent relationships with third parties/vendors to execute on key projects that are deemed important to the business
  • Creative  problem-solving ability and passion for continuous improvement

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $110,000 - $120,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, and company paid holidays.  The specific programs available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
