About the Role
As a Senior Java Developer, you’ll play a key role in architecting, developing, and integrating the backend systems that power next-generation, enterprise-scale solutions for our world-leading clients. You’ll collaborate within cross-functional agile teams, leverage modern technologies and best practices, and help drive high-impact digital transformation projects from the core.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems—primarily in Java (with opportunities for Go/Golang)
- Develop, integrate, and document robust RESTful APIs to support application features and platform interoperability
- Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, DevOps, and QA in an agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions
- Manage and optimize relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL), including schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization
- Own and maintain high-standard version control processes using Git and GitHub
- Define technical tasks, assign work, and track team progress in Jira
- Review code and pull requests (PRs) to ensure adherence to best practices and code quality standards
- Contribute to the configuration and maintenance of cloud-based infrastructure (primarily GCP)
- Participate in standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile rituals
About You
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of relevant backend software development experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Java for server-side application development (Go/Golang experience a plus)
- Hands-on experience with RESTful API design and integration
- Basic working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong background with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including modeling, querying, and optimization
- Track record managing repositories, branches, and PRs in Git and GitHub environments
- Practical experience defining and tracking work in Jira, and supporting agile delivery teams
- A commitment to high code quality, team collaboration, and ongoing learning
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills; able to navigate fast-paced, cross-functional projects
Nice to have:
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code and cloud environment setup
- Familiarity with monorepo architectures and Bazel build toolchains
- Exposure to configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (ideally with GitHub Actions)
- Experience with Argo for workflow automation and deployment
- Awareness of monitoring and observability solutions such as DataDog
