This individual will be responsible for aligning the company’s technological infrastructure with the business objectives while fostering collaboration across clinical, operational, and engineering teams. The CTO will also play a pivotal role in the internal implementation and refinement of products, preparing them for successful external release and marketing. The CTO will also be a key culture leader of the company as it continues its mission of high-quality client satisfaction and an employee-friendly environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the adoption of emerging technologies to create a competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate closely with the executive leadership team, including the CEO, to ensure technology strategies support broader business objectives.
  • Manage technology budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships (cloud providers, APIs, platforms).
  • Oversee the architecture for systems and platforms, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure, while optimizing costs and performance.

Innovation & Technology Modernisation

  • Lead the modernization of legacy systems, using a "POC-first" approach to drive innovation and eliminate technical debt in staged, prototype-driven releases.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement within the tech teams.
  • Oversee the integration of cutting-edge AI tools and technologies (e.g., LangChain, Bedrock, PyTorch) to enhance product offerings and develop AI-driven solutions.
  • Foster a “POC-first” mindset, encouraging rapid prototyping, experimentation, and iteration before full product rollouts.

AI & Data Readiness

  • Spearhead the integration of AI and machine learning technologies, ensuring seamless alignment with business goals and product strategies.
  • Drive the optimization of data pipelines and analytics platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Sisense), ensuring scalable, high-performance solutions for our multi-tenant environments.
  • Lead the development of AI prototypes and vector-based services, preparing them for production-level scaling and integration with Valsoft’s broader AI initiatives.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to ensure alignment between technical execution and product strategies.
  • Play a key role in aligning technical execution with client needs, including pre-sales technical support and solutioning.
  • Provide technical leadership during executive-level decision-making processes and contribute to the strategic direction of the company.

  • Strong expertise in designing secure, cost-efficient cloud architectures, with hands-on experience in AWS (RDS, ECS/Fargate, CloudWatch, etc.), Terraform, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience in AI/ML tooling and data architecture, with a working knowledge of relational databases, caching layers, and data-warehouse ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical strategies and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Deep knowledge of software engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and incident response processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
