Job Title: Director of Continuous Improvement

Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing environments, with 5+ years in a dedicated continuous improvement or operational excellence leadership role.

Location:

Remote (with up to 50% travel across U.S. facilities; occasional international travel as needed)

Position Summary:

TransTech is seeking a results-oriented Director of Continuous Improvement to lead and scale enterprise-wide initiatives across our manufacturing and operations network. This role will play a critical part in driving operational excellence, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, and delivering measurable results in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. This is a strategic opportunity for a seasoned Lean leader ready to influence systems and processes across a growing, multi-site industrial platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Continuous Improvement Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and lead the implementation of a company-wide continuous improvement strategy aligned with business objectives and operational goals.
  • Establish and manage a portfolio of CI projects, ensuring ROI tracking and alignment with enterprise KPIs.
  • Champion a Lean mindset at all levels of the organization and serve as the senior subject matter expert in CI methodologies.

Process Optimization & Operational Excellence

  • Facilitate value stream mapping, Kaizen events, 5S, and root cause analysis to eliminate waste and improve flow.
  • Drive measurable performance improvements in throughput, lead time, defect rates, and resource utilization across manufacturing operations.
  • Standardize best practices across facilities while tailoring solutions to specific site needs.

Leadership, Coaching & Training

  • Coach and mentor plant-level CI leaders and cross-functional project teams.
  • Develop and deliver training content for Lean Six Sigma, problem-solving, and process mapping tools.
  • Foster engagement in continuous improvement programs through employee involvement and leadership alignment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Integration

  • Work closely with leaders in Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to embed CI into daily practices.
  • Support integration of new acquisitions and international locations into existing CI systems and culture.
  • Create visibility into performance through dashboards, reporting tools, and executive presentations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing environments, with 5+ years in a dedicated CI or operational excellence leadership role.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent experience managing full-scale CI programs).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through improvement initiatives that delivered tangible business results.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and project management skills.

Preferred:

  • Master Black Belt certification or advanced Lean training.
  • Multi-site, global, or post-acquisition CI experience.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, MES platforms, and data visualization/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
