Senior Full-Stack Developer / Architect

Job purpose:

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer / Architect specialized in custom WordPress development, capable of leading technical architecture across complex web projects. This role combines development execution with strategic thinking and leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring our web platforms are scalable, secure, and future-proof, while maintaining clean code standards and reusable technical foundations..

The Senior Content Author works with web applications and a variety of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, and is comfortable with content management systems.

Job details: 

• Location: 100% Remote – Open to candidates in Nicaragua, Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Argentina.
• Schedule: Full-time – Monday to Friday (flexible hours, aligned with U.S. clients).
• Language Proficiency: Spanish: Native | English: B2 – C1 (spoken and written).
• Availability: Immediate or short-term preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architectural design of modern, scalable, and secure web platforms.
• Design, implement, and oversee scalable architecture for headful and headless WordPress platforms.
• Lead the development of reusable boilerplates and technical foundations.
• Build full-stack applications using React (Vanilla), Next.js, NodeJS, and PHP.
• Work with CMS platforms like Strapi, Contentful, DecapCMS, and optionally Drupal or AEM.
• Participate in client calls, assist Project Managers and Web Managers with technical scoping.
• Define and maintain coding standards and architecture best practices.
• Propose and evaluate technical solutions based on client and project needs.
• Manage source control using Git and advanced flows like Gitflow and GitHub Actions.
• Deploy solutions using Vercel, Netlify, AWS, Heroku, Render, or similar, with CI/CD pipeline configurations.
• Propose and evaluate technical solutions aligned with project requirements and performance goals.
• Create and maintain documentation for architecture decisions and tech specs.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, ensuring quality and scalability in all deliverables.
  

Required Academic Background:

BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development with a proven track record in complex and scalable projects.
• Strong hands-on expertise in custom WordPress development and theme/plugin architecture.
• Experience designing and maintaining reusable technical architectures.
• Familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Ability to manage deployments and environments across cloud platforms.
• Architecture Understanding: You should be comfortable working with both:
  • Headful WordPress: Monolithic, theme-based, server-rendered PHP architecture.
  • Headless WordPress: Decoupled model using WordPress for content management and React/Next.js for frontend via REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Tech Stack & Tools:
  • Frontend: React (Vanilla), NextJS, Gatsby, NuxtJS, APIs (REST & GraphQL)
  • Backend: NodeJS, PHP, WordPress (Headless & Headful)
  • CMS: Strapi, Contentful, DecapCMS (Drupal or AEM is a plus) 
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Netlify, Vercel, Heroku, AWS, Render
  • Project Tools: Monday.com, Jira, Clickup or similar
    
• Experience with content modeling and structured content in CMS environments.
• Clear communication and stakeholder collaboration, especially in client-facing roles.
  
• Advanced English communication skills (B2-C1), capable of interacting with U.S.-based clients.
• Exceptional attention to detail and code quality.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into action plans and deliverables.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality standards and timely delivery.
• Strong collaboration and leadership skills in multicultural teams.

Nice to Have:

• Experience creating digital platforms for healthcare professionals or financial services.
• Proficiency in additional CMSs like Drupal or AEM.
• Familiarity with marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo).
