Job Overview:
Reporting to the MyLexia Senior Manager of TPMs, this TPM will work in close communication with cross-team team leads, UX/UI designers, and team and contract developers to translate business requirements into user stories and ensuring the product meets technical requirements, system-level needs, and enabling technical solutions.
The TPM will have a software development, software architecture, or other strong technical background and will have a deeply proficient understanding of the technology behind the company's software solutions. Strong communication skills are required to ensure front-end teams are closely synched with platform teams, other myLexia teams, and the student products.
Job Responsibilities:
Roadmaps and Objectives
- Work with internal leadership to understand the strategic goals and business requirements for the educator products
- Write, manage, prioritize, and execute on the team’s objectives through user stories and cross-functional communication with Senior Manager of TPMs, Engineering, Development, QA, Design, and Hosting team members. Ensure the objectives deliver on the business requirements.
- In coordination with the Product Manager, understand and evaluate requests from customer-facing internal teams for enhancements and fixes.
- Provide technical insights to the Work In Progress and planned work in support of the Product Manager and the team members, becoming the bridge between engineering and product.
- Break down feature specifications and business requirements into objectives and then into manageable tasks that can be worked on by individual developers, written up as acceptance criteria, and validated by the QA team.
- Working in sync with the Product Manager, communicate and reach agreement on the technical constraints, scope of work, dependencies, and risks and how these may affect the roadmap
- Together with the Product Manager, contribute to prioritizing features and other platform/product changes into releases.
Backlog
- In sync with the Product Manager, write objectives and changes that accomplish the strategic roadmap goals using input from all external and internal sources
- With input from the Product Manager, update and prioritize the backlog, ensuring each story has clearly understandable set of user intent/value stories
- Develop user personas, use cases, user stories, and requirement documents to help define a scalable, and highly performing platform
- Create and manage epic, story, and bug tickets
- Working the Manager of TPMs, the Product Manager, and key stakeholders, help manage the scope and content of each monthly release
- Define the acceptance criteria new features
- Collaborate with Design, Engineering, QA, and Hosting to explain and refine each ticket
- Assign and prioritize bug tickets from Customer Support and QA
- Help troubleshoot usability issues and customer challenges with the product
Communications
- Facilitate creation and maintenance of product documentation, including writing functional specifications outside of Jira, as needed.
- In conjunction with the Product Manager, contribute to product/platform release notes
- Demo new features or functionality as needed to internal and external stakeholders
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 4+ years of experience in technical management
- Experience working closely with software and design teams and engineers
- Experience building and launching a SaaS products and platforms preferred
- The ability to think critically and troubleshoot blockers and challenges
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with systems design and development
- Experience with Git and SQL preferred
- Expertise in working with JIRA preferred
- Experience with the K-12 domain preferred
