Job description

*This is a remote position with a salary range of $85,000 to $95,000*

 

Job Summary: The EHR Systems Analyst is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of electronic health record (EHR) systems within our healthcare organization. This role involves collaborating with program staff, IT professionals, and other stakeholders to ensure the EHR system meets the needs of the organization and complies with all relevant regulations and standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Development and Implementation:
    • Design, develop, and implement EHR systems tailored to the organization's requirements.
    • Collaborate with technology, clinical and financial personnel to ensure the system supports clinical and financial workflows and patient care processes.
    • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure functionality and performance.
  • System Maintenance and Upgrades:
    • Monitor the performance of the EHR system and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
    • Implement system upgrades and patches to maintain system integrity and security.
    • Ensure seamless transitions during system updates or migrations.
  • Data Management and Analysis:
    • Collect and analyze system data to identify areas for improvement.
    • Ensure the integrity, efficiency, and organization of data within the EHR system.
    • Generate reports and provide insights to support clinical and administrative decision-making.
  • Training and Support:
    • Collaborate with the training department to provide training to healthcare providers and staff on the use of the EHR system.
    • Collaborate with training department on development of user manuals, training materials, and documentation.
    • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting assistance to system users.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure the EHR system complies with internal policies and external regulations, including HIPAA.
    • Monitor the quality of health records and information within the system.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to EHR use.

 

Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Applications Developers:
    • Oversee the work of Applications Developers involved in the design and configuration of EHR systems.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and offer professional development opportunities.
    • Coordinate with Applications Developers to troubleshoot issues and implement system upgrades.

Partnerships:

  • Adopt a customer service focus mindset and implement across team
  • Partner with Program and Operations teams to support the use and optimization of EHR systems
  • Work with Programs and Operations on SCO corporate projects and initiatives
  • Work with customers to identify areas for improvement
  • Work with Applications and Project Management Teams and IT leadership to establish Project Management best practices, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in health informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with EHR systems in a nonprofit healthcare setting
    • Direct experience with Netsmart EHR projects preferred
    • Proven experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EHR systems.
    • Experience supervising, providing guidance to or collaborating with Applications Developers or similar roles.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and lead teams in a healthcare IT environment.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of healthcare processes and clinical workflows.
    • Proficiency in EHR software
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

 

Salary Range:

The average salary for an EHR Systems Analyst in nonprofit healthcare in New York ranges from $85,000 to $95,000
