Job Description Summary

At Advanced Accelerator Applications, a Novartis company, we are committed to leading innovation in nuclear medicine and delivering the next generation of targeted radioligand therapy to cancer patients. We are looking for an experienced pharmaceutical leader to help us reach our ambitious goals.

The Head Engineering “RLT Platform” is responsible for developing strategies and implementing Engineering activities in line with Platform and Novartis Manufacturing & Supply business objectives. This is a key role of both the RLT Platform and Manufacturing Functions leadership teams.


 

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure all facilities, utilities and equipment are designed and operated in a safe and effective manner and are compliant with applicable standards
  • Drive innovation with new technologies in the platform
  • Support definition and enforce roll-out Global Engineering initiatives and projects at sites (ALCM, Standards, Best Practice Networks, Automation, Project Roadmap etc.).
  • Work closely with Head of Project Management to define, control and deliver major projects ensuring project objectives of scope, cost and schedule are maintained.
  • Establish projects, operational and design guidance standards, where necessary, to support the execution of projects and site Engineering activities.
  • Ensure each site has a facilities and equipment recapitalization plan
  • Ensure that all facilities and equipment are handed over effectively to site User departments and Maintenance personnel.
  • Manage “Special Projects” applicable to the Platform as required
  • Be part of the platform global leadership team that leads the global platform to achieve long term performance
  • Ensure that process and equipment technology used in operations is consistent with product needs and people capability
  • Ensure sustainable internal operations through effective asset risk control and timely recapitalization of site assets to match product needs and ‘Fit for Purpose’
  • Consistently apply a standard asset maintenance strategy across Divisions, to maintain design working conditions, reduce breakdowns and increase equipment life cycle

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in engineering (Dipl. Ing. or M.Sc. or B.Sc.) or equivalent
  • 15 years of general engineering experience thereof +10 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing
    environment.
  • Outstanding Technical knowledge with demonstrated ability to deliver safe and fully compliant technical solutions
  • Demonstrated Leadership abilities leading a team aligned around business/technology/project processes
  • Well-developed communication skills, able to present comfortably to Senior Management and to Technical experts
  • Demonstrated with knowledge/understanding of key non-technical business processes, Human Relations, Finance
  • Advanced HSE and GxP/QA knowledge.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $168,000 and $312,000 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
