This position will be placed in The International Markets region, which is a key strategic endeavour by Ascendis to expand our global footprint in partnership with indirect affiliates across the globe including Canada, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, South Africa, Asia and Oceania.

The role

As Associate Director Medical Operations you will play a high impact role within the International Markets team, primarily supporting TC CNP but also supporting the entire portfolio in ensuring a consistent scientific messaging and field approach across partners, collaborating with global medical training for implementation across therapeutic areas aligned to the partners launch timing and focus, as well as building an external medical education platform to support educational needs across the region. It will foster the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their medical affairs capabilities through supporting the launches of our portfolio globally.

You will report to the Head of International Medical Affairs and work closely with the respective VP of International region, Heads of International Marketing, Market Access & Business Operations as well as other internal teams across Ascendis. The role should be based in a market where we have an Ascendis European office (with a preference for the UK or Denmark). This is expected to be a remote role that may require some travel (~20%). Flexibility in work hours will be necessary to accommodate global time zones.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Internal and Partner Liaison

  • Build direct relationships with partners and internal cross-functional stakeholders
  • Serve as an active member of the medical affairs team and contribute as subject matter expert on the international region needs with all stakeholders
  • Support the gathering of insights and embed those to ensure customer focus is at our core

Training

  • Develop a yearly training calendar for each partner which closely aligns with their focus and launch planning as well as considering the needs of our 3 innovative brands
  • Deliver and support onboarding and on-going training for partner medical teams as well as supporting a transition to a train the trainer model
  • Lead device training across the region for all brands

External Medical Education

  • Support the build of a medical education program across the international region
  • Deliver external events where appropriates and with support as needed (advisory boards, webinars, face to face events)

Budget/Agency Management

  • Support finance processes where appropriate with the project coordinator
  • Oversee sourcing and logistical management of external vendors / HCPs / trainers as needed

Qualifications and Skills
