We are now looking for a
Sales Engineering Manager – Energy Storage
to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent and remote and will be based in Vaasa, Finland.
What you will be doing
As the Sales Engineering Manager you will be part of the Energy Storage business team for Africa and Europe (AFEU) region and manage the team for sales support operations, including technical solution design, quote generation and order processing, to enhance sales performance and customer satisfaction.
You will have an Electrical Engineering degree (or related field) and five (5) years utility scale ESS experience in energy storage and renewable energy markets.
As the Sales Engineering Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:
- Manage the sales engineering team within the region, planning activities, setting objectives, and ensuring efficient operations and high-quality support to the sales function
- Support in implementing sales support policies, frameworks and processes to improve sales support effectiveness and performance
- Manage key projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing sales support capabilities and infrastructure
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within sales support, encouraging innovation and best practice adoption
- Ensure the sales engineering team provides exceptional service to both internal and external customers, contributing to customer retention and growth
- Oversee and manage quote-to-order processes within sales support, ensuring effective quote generation and order processing. Manage the quotation process to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met and liaises with sales representatives and operations to ensure accuracy of orders
- Collaborate with sales, service, engineering, finance, operations and other stakeholders to ensure aligned and effective sales support operations, promoting accurate and effective quotation and order processing
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
- Minimum five (5) years of utility scale ESS (technical and commercial) experience in energy storage projects and products, particularly in AFEU region, both as individual contributor and team leader
- BS/MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding of utility generation project development process
- Strong written, oral and presentation skills. Must be a proven and competent English writer, able to create grammatically correct and properly structured English proposal documents and contents.
- Understanding of CE, UL, IEEE, IEC and NEC standards as applicable to the local region.
- Knowledgeable in local utility systems and interconnection requirements for electric generators.
- Passion for innovation, ability to adapt to fasting changing market demands, working independently and as a team member
- Willingness to take ownership and produce results
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- Solid including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent teamwork skills (cross-functional teams), work ethic & organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment
(In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 10% - 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.)
