Job description

Who We Are:

At Emburse, you’ll not just imagine the future – you’ll build it. As a leader in travel and expense solutions, we are creating a future where technology drives business value and inspires extraordinary results.

We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Vice President of Renewals to lead a high-impact function responsible for maximizing customer lifetime value, protecting recurring revenue, and driving scalable operational excellence. A core focus of this role is executing renewal and price increase strategies, working closely with Sales, Customer Success, and FP&A to ensure accurate forecasting, seamless process execution, and measurable outcomes.
This leader will be instrumental in aligning post-sale teams around shared retention and expansion goals while building the infrastructure and insights needed to scale efficiently and profitably.

Key Responsibilities:

Renewals & Price Management

- Own strategy, process, and performance management for all customer renewals, ensuring high gross and net revenue retention
- Build and govern a disciplined price increase program across the customer base—defining logic, timing, thresholds, and customer engagement models
- Develop and enforce renewal playbooks and negotiation guardrails in partnership with Sales and Legal
- Drive forecasting accuracy and risk mitigation strategies, with clear renewal pipeline visibility

Customer Success Operations

- Lead the Customer Success Operations function, including health scoring, segmentation, capacity planning, and journey analytics
- Establish and track operational KPIs across the post-sale lifecycle, with real-time dashboards and insights for CS and executive leadership
- Partner with Success leaders to optimize team coverage, digital engagement strategies, and tech-touch models across segments

Cross-Functional Alignment

- Serve as a critical bridge between Sales, Customer Success, and FP&A, ensuring alignment on forecasting, account planning, revenue risk, and coverage models
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Enablement to support scalable growth and product adoption across the base
- Drive operational planning and budgeting cycles in partnership with FP&A, owning renewal and price-related revenue assumptions

Systems, Tools & Enablement

Oversee the tech stack powering renewals and CS (Salesforce, Gainsight, Pendo, BI tools), ensuring system integrity and automation
- Champion data-driven decision-making through robust reporting, dashboards, and proactive analytics
- Develop onboarding and enablement programs for Success and Renewals teams to improve fluency in commercial levers (e.g., pricing, negotiation, product value)

Leadership & Culture

Build and lead a high-performing team of operations and renewals professionals
- Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and customer-centric growth
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Chief Customer Officer and executive leadership team
