The Payroll Lead  is a subject matter expert in Payroll, in charge of coordinating team efforts to successfully process payroll from start to finish in compliance with local regulation for multiple sites or entities as well as being the lead sponsor for projects related to Payroll as needed.

Job Functions

  • Manage start to end process for Payroll

  • Support reporting and analysis for  tax compliance in local country

  • Lead and assist with internal and external audit requirements

  • Coordinate a team of Payroll Analyst & Specialist

  • Maintain payroll system updates and advice on new system applications or improvements required.


Job Responsibilities

  • The Payroll Manager position covers the following responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Provide coordination, reporting and analysis support and guidance for payroll activities

  • Coordinate all inputs and efforts needed to complete payroll transmission 

  • Maintain partnerships with various vendors for payroll, timekeeping, garnishments, and governmental agencies.

  • Solid understanding of employment law, regulatory and legal compliance to address notifications and provide guidance to team of payroll specialist

  • Completes Payroll reconciliations and implements  new reports as needed
    Demonstrate positive team performance

  • Ensures that all internal risk and control guidelines are met and executed in every process

  • Responsible for training other Specialist and Analysts as needed

  • Subject matter expert with the ability to apply knowledge of the business to solve strategic payroll issues. This is the first filter to address semi-complex Payroll matters that need to be escalated to a Manager or Payroll leader.

  • Partner with process peers in Human Resources, Benefits, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Labor Relations, Corporate Taxes, and related third party vendors to resolve employee questions/issues

  • Provide key support to the Finance and Accounting group

  • Fluency with HR policies pertaining to payroll such as overtime, leave, benefits, employee compensation, health and welfare, and retirement benefit administration

  • Conduct meetings with different level contacts and departments as needed.

  • Manage relations with local Payroll Vendor, bank representative for Payroll Bank account services and government authorities.

  • Participate in projects as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required

  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on business or accounting preferred

  • Experience with computerized payroll processing

  • Experience with Payroll Vendor management and Workday HR/Payroll systems a plus

  • Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Google Sheets

  • Must be detailed oriented

  • Able to meet deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to communicate with all levels across the various departments.

  • Able to work in fast paced and high volume process environment

  • Diligent in following through to guarantee full completion of task or issue.

  • Should be able to work independently to ensure day to day functions and projects are completed and should be able to work as a team for collaboration, projects or achievement of team and company goals.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects

  • Agility to understand numerical and analytical data

  • Be able to respond assertively regarding payroll matters.

  • Must have a good sense of urgency.
