Job Description:
Associate Director, Business Intelligence will help establish GOBA Global BI Infrastructure for markets in APAC region. The individual will be part of the Global Business Intelligence (GBI) team under GOBA, and will be responsible for bringing cutting-edge, and scalable business insights solutions developed by GOBA to Commercial and Medical Affairs Teams in JAPAC region. This role reports to the Senior Director, Data Strategy and BI in GOBA and will work closely with local cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, GBI Data Management, GBI Digital Enablement, Compliance, and Global Technical Services (GTS). Serving as a strategic partner, the Associate Director will spearhead various initiatives focused on release of Business Intelligence systems for Field and Executive leadership, on-boarding and training local teams, and serving as a strategic business partner for Commercial and Medical Affairs organization.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Engage with the local Commercial and Medical Affairs Teams for JAPAC Markets to establish GOBA Global Business Intelligence infrastructure components and drive adoption and utilization of the platforms including but not limited to Field Insights Solutions, CRM, and Executive Reporting platform.
- Partner with the GBI data infrastructure teams and implementation vendors, aligning on project objectives, scope, milestones, and success factors for launching GOBA Applications.
- Collaborate with vendor partners, developers, and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle of field insights solutions.
- Partner with Commercial and Marketing leads and Medical Affairs HQ Leadership to understand their local execution strategy and translating it into requirements around customer and business insights, and designing BI solutions to address these requirements.
- Build understanding of secondary data landscape in JAPAC to better understand market dynamics. Conduct thorough impact analysis before onboarding new data assets or implementing changes to the field insights platform, identifying dependencies and mitigation strategies.
- Partner with GBI data infrastructure team to implement data management best practices for master and transaction datasets to maintain high data integrity, trust, and quality for field insights.
- Develop Data Quality framework for business insights (Field and Executive) to ensure accuracy of data and insights.
- Participate in code reviews, evaluate enhancement efforts and development approaches, and implement best practices to continuously improve code quality, performance, and scalability for field insights applications.
- Working knowledge of SQL databases (Redshift and/or PostgreSQL) to retrieve, manipulate, and store data for field and HQ insights.
- Stay current with data management capabilities and drive technology improvements to build sustainable processes for ingesting, storing, and provisioning field insights data.
- Assist in onboarding and training to drive adoption of the field insights BI platform among field teams.

- Bachelors / Masters in Computer Science, Information Management, Business Analytics or related discipline.
- 8-10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical industry, Life Sciences consulting, Commercial operations or related fields, building Enterprise Field Reporting platforms.
- Proven experience in information technology design, implementation, and/or analytics platform support in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.
- Experience with Drug distributors and associated data, Specialty Pharmacy data, Specialty Distributor data, Patient Hub data, Data warehouses, and Field Reporting solutions is essential.
- Knowledge of Sales and Medical Affairs functions and associated operations is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation and project management abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a matrix environment and build solid relationships across the organization.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with solid business acumen and the ability to manage and provision large amounts of data for high-performance and trustworthy business analysis.
- Strong project management and delivery experience, including project planning, budget oversight, and staffing of project teams.
- Ability to articulate complex technical problems and solutions to a wide business audience and communicate solution value effectively.
- Capability to identify operational weaknesses and implement corrective action plans.
