The Commercial Operations Specialist at Lonza is responsible for maintaining, validating, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of Bioscience commercial data used across multiple platforms. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, IT, Commercial Operations, and Master Data to optimize data management practices and support effective operational decision-making.
The individual will serve as a key resource and point person for data stewardship and governance around LBS Accounts and Contacts. Additionally, the role is responsible for Lead Assignment rules and the overall health of our data as it relates to Lead & Opportunity Management in salesforce.com.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across key platforms, including Salesforce (SFDC), SAP ERP, and associated commercial tools.
Complete data quality audits, validation, and data cleansing projects to ensure accurate and reliable data sets.
Serve as subject-matter expert on data standards, classification, and enrichment processes.
Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Work with IT Master Data team to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility for commercial teams, enabling data-driven decision-making.
Develop and detail standardized procedures for Lead Assignment rules.
Provide support and insights to Sales, Marketing, Service, and Commercial teams to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
Develop processes to decrease manual entry of lead assignment rules, including automation options, with IT platform owners.
Analyze and communicate insights from data trends to improve efficiency in commercial operations.
Key requirements:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
Extensive experience in SData Management, Sales Operations, or a similar analytical support role, preferably within life sciences, biotechnology, pharma, or related industries.
Strong skills in building customer relationships, identifying needs, delivering tailored solutions, securing commitments, and communicating effectively.
Proficiency in using CRM software, MS Office Suite, and planning/project management platforms to handle client interactions and projects.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence collaborators at all levels.

As required by law in this state, the quoted salary range for this remote position is $81,600 – $101,000. We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities; while also allowing for differentiation on performance based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at the company between the lower and the middle part of the applicable range. We tailor our offers within the range based on job-related factors, including organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic area and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and/or communication skills and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process.
This range is only inclusive of base salary, and base pay is just one component of Lonza’s total compensation package for employees.
