This established Australian fintech company provides credit analysis software for both commercial and consumer lending. Its platform enables businesses to access and analyze bank transaction data, offering insights into cash flow and financial behavior that support more accurate credit decisions.

Operating in the financial technology sector, the company helps streamline application workflows, improve risk management, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. It serves a broad range of financial institutions, including traditional banks and non-bank lenders. The industry is defined by digital innovation, data-driven decision-making, and a growing emphasis on responsible lending practices.

Role Overview:

We're looking for a Senior Frontend / React Developer to lead the development of high-performance, mobile-first web applications. This role requires strong expertise in React, Redux, component architecture, and API integration. You’ll collaborate closely with backend and DevOps teams, own key architectural decisions, and ensure smooth performance. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience and a passion for building modern, responsive user interfaces with seamless animations and clean code.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and optimisation of robust, scalable, maintainable, and visually engaging React-based applications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Backend Developers and DevOps Engineers to define and integrate RESTful APIs and scalable backend architecture.
• Architect and maintain reusable, well-documented components and UI libraries, with a strong emphasis on performance and maintainability.
• Ensure mobile-first responsiveness and pixel-perfect implementation across modern devices and browsers.
• Implement and optimise complex animations, transitions, and dynamic rendering for a smooth user experience.
• Debug and enhance application builds, ensuring excellent performance and responsiveness.
• Writing efficiently high-quality code and contributing to a culture where quality is paramount.
• Participate in peer reviews to maintain high code quality.
• Stay up to date with the latest front-end trends, technologies, and best practices.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on React.js and the modern JavaScript ecosystem (ES6+).
• Proven experience building and maintaining mobile-first applications with responsive design principles.
• Proficiency in TypeScript, ensuring type safety, maintainability, and scalable code architecture.
• Experience with performance profiling and optimisation techniques, using profilers. to identify and resolve performance problems.
• Strong understanding of Redux or similar state management libraries.
• Solid experience integrating with RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data flows.
• Practical knowledge of animations, transitions, and component-driven UI design.
• Hands-on experience with iOS and Android debugging, build optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
• Deep understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility (WCAG), and frontend security best practices such as XSS and CSRF protection.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience using NextJs, Minimal UI, Material UI.
• Experience with PHP 8 features, including object-oriented programming concepts.
• Familiarity with Laravel routing and Eloquent ORM.
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud hosting platforms like AWS.
• Knowledge of Redis, database indexing strategies, and caching mechanisms within a framework like Laravel.
