Job Title: Statistician V
Location: Telework, proximity to Fallbrook, CA desired
Clearance Requirement: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel Requirement: Minimal Travel Expected

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Statistician V to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field and demonstrated expertise in the application of advanced statistical methodologies to solve complex problems. The candidate must be capable of obtaining a Secret clearance and will work on high-impact projects that support [insert agency, department, or program], often involving sensitive or classified information.

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement complex statistical models and methodologies to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze large and varied datasets using statistical software and programming tools.
  • Interpret data and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders through reports, visualizations, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, analysts, engineers, and program managers.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for statistical methods, processes, and models.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior-level statisticians and analysts.
  • Support knowledge sharing across teams; teaching experience is a plus for developing training materials or conducting in-house seminars.
  • Ensure compliance with data security standards and work within environments that require security clearance.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans, timelines, and deliverables.

These services are in support of test planning, test execution, test support, test operations and associated logistics for a wide variety of systems across their life cycle, which include focus areas such as Arms, Ammunition, Explosives, Weapons Systems, and associated platforms utilized by the Expeditionary Warfare community. Secondary support areas include Sensors and Communications, Mobility Platforms, Systems Integration, and Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) equipment with unique military applications; and other new or existing systems or systems of systems that require independent testing for Expeditionary Warfare.

Mandatory Skill Requirements (must have):

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of professional experience in statistical analysis and model development.
  • Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS, Python, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of applied statistics, probability theory, regression models, experimental design, and data mining.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and foster professional development.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Skill Requirements:

  • Experience working in a government or defense-related environment.
  • Knowledge of secure data environments, FISMA, or DoD data handling requirements.
  • Experience with machine learning techniques and tools.
  • Familiarity with database languages (e.g., SQL) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Prior teaching or training experience, particularly in statistics or data science.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead statistical research projects from conception to completion.
  • Current active Secret Security Clearance.

Education:

BS/MS in Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline.

 Experience: 

Minimum of 8 years in a related field.
