Role Overview
As a Clinical Referral Nurse, you will be responsible for managing patient referrals, conducting pre-procedure health assessments, and ensuring compliance with Western Australian healthcare regulations. Working remotely, you’ll combine clinical expertise with administrative skills to enhance patient care and facilitate a seamless referral process. Additionally, this role includes real-time medical scribing during procedures, ensuring accurate documentation of patient records in collaboration with the on-site medical team.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive phone-based health assessments to ensure patients are well-prepared for procedures.
Process and manage patient referrals, prioritizing straightforward cases to optimize workflow.
Perform real-time medical scribing during procedures, transcribing doctor dictations into the Genie software and printing reports for immediate use.
Accurately audio-type medical reports during slower periods, maintaining high standards of documentation.
Coordinate with the on-site medical team to facilitate smooth patient flow and care delivery.
Maintain meticulous patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations.
Adapt to varying workloads, balancing referral management, scribing, and administrative tasks as needed.
Stay up to date with Western Australian healthcare regulations, ensuring all interactions adhere to compliance standards.
Requirements
Registered Nurse qualification recognized in Australia, with experience in gastroenterology or a related medical field preferred.
Excellent phone manner and communication skills, essential for remote patient interactions.
Proficiency in medical transcription and audio typing, with strong familiarity with medical terminology.
Ability to work independently while maintaining high productivity in a remote setting.
Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
Familiarity with healthcare data privacy regulations and a commitment to confidentiality.
Technical proficiency, including the ability to quickly adapt to new software (experience with Genie software is a plus).
Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.
