Logan Health is a growing health system located in Northwest Montana. We are looking for a Coding Auditor to join our team remotely!

We’re looking for a charismatic, high energy, and personable professional who combines strong coding knowledge with exceptional communication skills. This role involves regular interaction with providers and physicians, so the ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally in a virtual setting is essential. You should feel comfortable delivering education and guidance, even when addressing sensitive or corrective feedback, while staying calm, confident, and solutions-focused.

Five years of coding or billing experience, as well as a current CPC or CCS certification is required. Professional coding experience is a must, and previous coding auditor experience will set you apart. CPMA certification is highly desired.

What you'll be doing:

You'll serve as a trusted resource by providing education, guidance, and feedback to providers and physicians to support compliance, coding accuracy, and strong documentation practices.

In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of professional coding services at Logan Health. Responsibilities will include auditing outpatient records, assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes, and abstracting key data for audit review, tracking, reporting, and reimbursement.

Pay details: Pay for this position ranges from $23.21 per hour to $34.68 per hour depending on prior related experience.

This is a fully remote position. To be eligible to work remotely for Logan Health, you must reside in one of the following states:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ coding and billing experience is required. Associate’s degree in a health related field preferred.

  • Current coding certification - CPC or CCS

  • Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) certification preferred and must be successfully obtained within one (1) year of hire.

  • Experience working with or providing education to providers or physicians is preferred

  • Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and practices required.

  • Thorough knowledge of all items listed below required:

    • Classification and nomenclature anatomy

    • Medical terminology

    • Health information management procedures and practices

  • Prior work experience training others and auditing preferred.

  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.

  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Audits and reviews documentation for compliance with coding regulations.

  • Provides educational opportunities for coders, practice managers and providers within Logan Heath.

  • Coordinates all Logan Health internal and external audits.

  • Assists with the development and implementation of an internal audit program that provides feedback and education to providers of Logan Health.

  • Provides ad hoc coding audits as requested.

  • Performs audits for providers and follows up with meetings and assistance as needed.

  • Notifies leadership of coding errors per department procedure.

  • Provides accurate coding for claims as assigned.

Shift:

Variable (United States of America)

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
