Compensation

The compensation target range for this role is:

$76,500 - $90,000

Job Summary

The Field Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales and leads a team of 5- 6 Market Development Specialists in providing sales and training support to Wholesale partners of Purple. This role is responsible for driving team performance through coaching and motivation, while overseeing recruitment, training, and development. This role will also service retail partner stores in their own territory within the region, focused on making every regional and national account as successful as possible by positioning themselves as the experts who can help maximize revenue growth and grow Purple’s Balance of Share (BOS) by giving stores the resources and training needed to sell Purple with confidence and ease. Additionally, this role will develop localized strategies to enhance Purple's market share, collaborate on go-to-market plans, and foster relationships with retail partner associates. Provide insights and intelligence to inform decision-making and ensure cross-functional collaboration for team success. Participate in key meetings and business reviews with wholesale partners, contributing to Purple's growth and success in the marketplace.

Job Description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Passionate about coaching, training, and selling.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of large groups, including leadership.
  • Sales focused whether selling a product or an idea.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the team of 5-6 Market Development Representatives in your region who also provide sales and training support for several Wholesale partners.
  • Coach, motivate, and excite your team leading to increased results
  • Be responsible for interviewing and hiring your team and managing all aspects of their training and development.
  • Use data, market insights, and professional experience to formulate localized plans to grow Purple’s Balance of Share (BoS) within your assigned Region.
  • Assist in developing the go-to-market strategy for key channels, including partnering with sales and customer marketing teams to drive brand success with priority customers.
  • Establish relationships with retail sales associates and leaders through consistent and professional communication
  • Develop and provide field insights and competitive intelligence to Purple leadership
  • Communicate and collaborate with Account Management, Operations, and other cross-functional partners to ensure your team has all the tools needed to succeed
  • Participate in meetings and quarterly business reviews with wholesale partners, including C-level executives
  • Travel to markets within each region quarterly to coach and develop MDS team.
  • Additional travel to customer events, trade shows and team meetings

Required Skills, Education, Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience or 5+ years of experience required
  • 2+ years of experience leading indirect sales teams or in multi-unit sales management required
  • A high level of problem-solving ability, including independent judgment and decision-making skills
  • Salesforce experience preferred
  • Proficient in conflict resolution and multitasking, adept at prioritizing tasks in fast-paced settings
  • Demonstrated leadership experience translating strategies and motivating a team to act
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially in Powerpoint
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations to small and large groups, but in-person and virtual
  • A valid state driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
