About the job

We are currently seeking a skilled Field Service Technician with a focus on controls and automation to join our dynamic team. This strategic position is customer interfacing and plays a significant role in solving problems and opening relationship doors. This individual will work on various service-related projects such as providing quality customer service through installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, electrical systems, automated systems, control panels, and be willing to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, to various client locations. Successful candidates require both technical and social skills to deal with customers at all levels, to minimize equipment downtime, and to ensure a positive customer experience. This is a fully remote position with preference of home location within the Eastern region of the United States.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Perform installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical control systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, actuators, and related equipment.

  • Provide on-site troubleshooting and repair services for customers, including diagnosing complex technical issues.

  • Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams.

  • Conduct thorough inspections to ensure that all equipment and systems comply with electrical safety standards and regulations.

  • Perform preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of both mechanical components such as pumps and valves, as well as electrical control systems.

  • Provide training and technical advice to customers, promoting best practices for operation and maintenance.

  • Document Service activities by completing forms, reports, logs, and records in a timely manner.

  • Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure smooth operation.

  • Heavy travel (75%-85%) to customer sites across the US and occasionally internationally.

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games.

  • Certification in HVAC systems is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and HMI software (Rockwell) is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of VFD setup and troubleshooting is preferred.

  • Highly motivated and self-driven.
