Job Role: Accountant
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 9 AM - 5:30 PM (AU Time Zone)
Salary range:  $1000 - 2500 AUD

Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with experience in Australian accounting standards, taxation, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with Australian tax regulations, and supporting business decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Lodge BAS, IAS, and GST reports in compliance with ATO regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of income tax returns for businesses and individuals.
  • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and accounting standards (AASB, IFRS).
  • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and external stakeholders.
  • Improve financial processes and internal controls for efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Australian accounting experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws, BAS/GST, and ATO compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, Outlook, and Excel) is a must.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
