About The Role

The Sr. Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate and timely financial operations. This position owns critical components of the close process, supports revenue recognition, customer billing, and contributes to the financial integrity of our systems and reporting. This role reports directly to the CFO and collaborates across departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.

This position is full-time and fully remote. Candidates must be located in California, Oregon, Colorado, Texas, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Louisiana, Florida, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, New York, or Connecticut. Candidates may be required to travel and/or meet up in-person from time to time. There may also be an expectation in the future for hybrid work in a local office.

About You
  • You bring at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a blend of public accounting and in-house industry roles, ideally in SaaS or fintech.
  • You have a strong grasp of GAAP, experience with revenue recognition, and have successfully led or contributed to monthly close and audit processes.
  • You’re detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly across teams like HR, Sales, and Operations.
  • You enjoy opportunities to improve processes and systems, and you take initiative to optimize workflows, enhance reporting accuracy, and strengthen internal controls in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
What You'll Do
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit card transactions.
  • Lead portions of the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Assist with revenue recognition, deferred revenue tracking, and customer invoicing.
  • Support the annual audit, including preparation of audit schedules and communication with external auditors.
  • Assist with the support gathering for federal, state, and local tax returns in collaboration with external tax advisors.
  • Partner with the CFO to implement and improve systems, processes, and internal controls.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and SOPs related to accounting processes.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Sales, Operations, and Human Resources to ensure accuracy throughout the organization
What You'll Bring

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 years of progressive experience with 3 years in public accounting and 2 years in industry.
  • Experience with revenue recognition.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing general ledger functions and full-cycle accounting.

Preferred Requirements

  • CPA or progress towards certification.
  • Experience with NetSuite.
  • Experience in Fintech.
  • International accounting experience (foreign currency, etc).
  • Experience with Stripe.
  • Experience with FloQast/Numeric.
