Summary
This role will provide agronomic knowledge, problem solving, and training to Crop Advisors and Growers in assigned SGS region. Develop innovative and fun training programs for the region in alignment with regional sales leadership including content and approach. In conjunction with sales leadership, Product Management, and the Agronomic Sciences Team, develop content and locations for annual field days and product demos. Work with the Agronomic Sciences and Customer Experience teams to communicate research trial results from the region. Work with Crop Advisors and sales leadership to evaluate crop claims. Provide feedback and suggestions to the Digital Platform Manager for the digital agronomy platform. Develop relationships with regional colleges, universities, and other stakeholder groups to strengthen training programs and SGS presence in the region.
*Highly preferred that the selected candidate is based in Texas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide agronomic training and consulting for Crop Advisors and Growers in the region on crop nutrition, crop protection, general agronomy, and seed.
- Coordinate agronomic content and location for field day programs and demos with sales leadership, Product Management, and Agronomic Sciences teams.
- Work with Agronomic Sciences and Customer Experience to communicate regional research results including product performance and placement.
- Evaluate crop claims for Crop Advisors and sales leadership.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to the Digital Platform Manager regarding design and content.
- Develop relationships with staff at regional colleges and universities to strengthen agronomy training programs.
Typical Education
- Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) from a four-year college or university required. Masters preferred. (Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirements).
Relevant Experience
- 10+ years of experience and/or training
Other Information
Extensive Agronomic knowledge and knowledge of and Specialty products. Ability to bring value to the field staff by teaching marketing and sales skills development to others.
Skills: Sales and marketing abilities. Ability to influence others to improve skills.
