Job Title: IXT98K - Product Owner - REMS Technology
Brief Description:
We are seeking a results-driven Product Owner to join our Agile software development team. As a Product Owner for the REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) technology platform, you will serve as the central point between business stakeholders, clients, IT development teams, and external partners, ensuring that our REMS product delivers maximum value, maintains regulatory compliance, and meets evolving client and FDA requirements. You will play a critical role in defining the product vision, prioritizing the product backlog, and translating business needs into actionable requirements for development teams. You will represent and/or oversee communications related to critical and strategic clients and work with internal teams and external clients to continue ongoing business, enhance and improve our technology offerings and grow UBC’s book of business.
Specific job duties:
- Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap, and value proposition for UBC’s REMS technology platform.
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring priorities align with business goals, client commitments, and regulatory needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, project management, regulatory, development, quality) to gather, refine, and prioritize requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and agile development teams, ensuring clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and feedback loops.
- Ensure project, scrum, and business teams are aware of new product enhancements and functionality.
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners related to the REMS technology to ensure seamless interoperability.
- Monitor product performance, user feedback, and market trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Champion a client- and patient-centered approach, ensuring that the REMS product supports safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of drug programs.
- Support regulatory audits and compliance efforts, ensuring that the product and processes meet FDA and global requirements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on REMS programs, contributing to bid defenses, client pitches, and strategic planning as needed.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Business, or related field (master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated software environments. Certification as a Product Owner (CSPO) or equivalent is a plus.
- Strong understanding of REMS programs, pharmacovigilance, or related regulatory frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience working in Agile development environments (Scrum, SAFe, or similar).
- Ability to make difficult product decisions and prioritize features based on business value
- Experience with backlog management and user story writing
- Excellent skills in translating complex business needs into clear product requirements and user stories.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to balance technical constraints, business priorities, and regulatory requirements.
