Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and file individual, corporate and partnership tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to for tax collection analysis and to identify tax-saving opportunities and areas of potential tax risk.
Liaise with tax authorities and represent the company during tax audits.
Stay updated with the latest tax regulations, rulings, and trends, ensuring the company's tax practices are up-to-date and compliant.
Ability to adapt and accommodate to established standards and procedures.
Time management skills.
Efficient workflow performance.
Collaborate with the legal and tax teams to gather necessary information for tax filings.
Provide insights and recommendations to management on tax-related matters.
Report to Case Manager and/or Attorney.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Experience/Proficiency in tax software and tools, specifically Tax Act.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal. (Spanish speaker preferred but not required)
Knowledge of California and U. S. Federal tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Ethical judgment and the ability to handle confidential information.
Three years experience in U.S. tax accounting.
Three years experience in preparing individual, corporate, and partnership U.S. tax returns.
Experience in preparing amended returns, specifically 1120SX.(preferred)
Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA). Enrolled Agent designation preferred but not required.
Experience in conducting internal and external tax audits.
Experience with U.S. research and development credits preferred.
Continuous learning mindset, with a willingness to participate in tax training, workshops, and seminars.
Experience in filing original and amended individual, partnership and corporate tax returns.
