Job description

This is a remote position.

The Draftsperson supports the Business Solutions department by preparing detailed drawing packages, specifications and  related documentation for AV project delivery. Working closely with Senior Consulting Engineers, Design Team and Project Managers, the Draftsperson ensures the accurate and timely creation of documentation aligned with Videopro’s standards and project requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work directly with the Senior Consulting Engineer (SCE) to receive new drafting requests and manage project documentation requirements.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of the priority and timelines of drafting requests,with guidance from the corresponding engineer and manager.
  • Use provided project information (e.g., BOM, SOW, sketches, photos)to create drawing packages in Videopro’s standard AutoCAD format.
  • Prepare drawing packages including, but not limited to:
  • Cover Page
  • Legend
  • Key Plan
  • Equipment Floor Plan
  • Equipment Reflected CeilingPlan (RCP)
  • Equipment Elevations
  • Conduit/Cable Riser
  • Signal Flow Diagrams
  • Equipment Details
  • Draft details such as revision tracking, conduit sizing, AV networking requirements and locations, architectural blocking, clash detection, equipment representation with mounting details, sight line studies and  AV system flows with customised cabling references.
  • Apply architectural and AV-specific knowledge to make critical placement and infrastructure decisions during drafting, raising any issues with the corresponding engineer as required.
  • Deliver final AutoCAD files and PDF drawing packages to the project delivery team, ensuring compliance with project timelines.
  • Remain available for drawing updates and modifications as requested by the engineer or project manager.
  • Prepare product specification submittal packages in accordance with the SCE’s format.
  • Create colour selection submittals for delivery to architects or clients, where applicable.
  • Identify and communicate time restraints or resource needs that may impact delivery timelines to the SCE.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining efficient drafting workflows, standardised reference libraries and  documentation templates.
  • Maintain up-to-date AutoCAD capabilities in line with software updates and industry best practices.
  • Provide training and mentoring to internal team members on AutoCAD standards and workflows as required.


Requirements
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD LT, Microsoft Office applications (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook) and role-specific applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise,and manage workload to meet project deadlines.
  • Highly responsible, self-motivated and  organised approach to work.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to handle pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality documentation.
  • Customer service mindset, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience in the AV industry or familiarity with audio-visual systems integration.
  • Exposure to AV system design requirements, conduit and cabling layouts, or architectural coordination.
  • Relevant AutoCAD training or certification.
