Job description

This is a remote position.

The Plumbing Estimator is responsible for responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for plumbing systems in residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review architectural and mechanical drawings to identify plumbing scope.
  • Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors and other project-related expenses.
  • Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of costs, materials and labor rates.
  • Participate in bid reviews and pre-construction meetings.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers and field staff to ensure alignment on project scope and budget.
  • Prepare bid packages and ensure timely submission of proposals.
  • Track and report on estimate accuracy and project cost trends.


Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Plumbing Estimator or in a similar estimating role in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (Simpro & Ground Plan).
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
